ABOUT ONLINE APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING...

Online Appointment Scheduling is fast and convenient, and you'll never be put "on hold." Appointment "blocks" are color-coded according to availability, so it's easy to find an open time slot. Confidentiality is never a problem since the person making the online appointment sees only his or her own name. And you can reschedule your appointment online up to 24 hours prior.

FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT

NEW CLIENTS - The Initial Assessment
At your first counseling appointment, John will work with you in identifying your counseling needs and begin formulating a treatment plan to help you achieve your counseling goals.

Also, during this appointment, you will be given a private Username and Password along with instructions for using the JACS Scheduler should you wish to make future appointments online. Of course, we are always happy to assist you in making appointments, if that is your preference.

You may reach John by calling 843-225-3282; or, if you are outside the Charleston area, you can call toll-free at 866-546-2838. If John is not available to answer your call right away, he will respond as promptly as possible. (For emergencies, see below.)

While in the Online Scheduler, don't forget to click "Make Appointment" and "Finish" after you have made your date and time selections.

Within minutes, you should receive an email confirming your appointment. If you do not receive a confirmation email, you may want to call us to be sure the new appointment is in our system.

FEES FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The Initial Assessment will last approximately one hour and the charge is $75.00. Fees for subsequent sessions can be discussed at this first visit, or you may call John for further information about counseling costs.

Payment is expected at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, VISA or MasterCard. Except for unforeseen, last-minute emergencies, we expect you to either make your appointment changes in the Online Scheduler or call our office - at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Failure to do so could result in charges for "no show" appointments.

If you choose to obtain reimbursement from your insurance company, we will be happy to provide you with payment receipts and other documentation as required by your insurance plan.

CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY

At John Alexander Counseling Services, the confidentiality of information shared by a client or potential client is very important to us. From the initial point of contact - whether by telephone, e-mail or in person - it is our policy to safeguard all matters pertaining to a client or potential client in accordance with applicable laws concerning client confidentiality and widely-accepted guidelines for counseling professionals.

EMERGENCIES

If you are currently in need of emergency medical or psychiatric help, I urge you to call your physician, call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room. You may prefer to call a Crisis Unit in your area to find help for your immediate problem. In the Charleston area, the phone number for the Crisis Unit is 843-414-2350.
